Nasi Budu

Today we are having Kelantanese food.

This is the highlight of the meal.  Budu - a traditional anchovy sauce.  To prepare our plate of budu, we pour the sauce in a plate, squash a dash of lime juice and mix together with raw mango, sweet durian, some onion and lots of bird's eye chilis.

Gulai kawah.  A curry like (but not curry) meat dish.

Singge daging.  A hot and sour meat stew.

Kerabu sare - a hot and spicy seaweed salad.

Chicken feet salad.  Danger!  Lot's of bird's eye chili ok!

Ike percik.  Spicy coconut sauce poured over grilled Mackerel.

Sambal sotong - ret hot chillied squid.

Aye percik.  Same as the mackerel only that it is chicken.

Now we are all set to eat a hearty lunch.

Which will later end with this sweet dessert.

Lot 28195 Kampung Pantai Balok aka Villaku Residence

Believe it or not, this beautiful Villa is for rent!  Minimum stay is 2 nights.

As they say, the beach is just a stone throw away.

A delightful setting for breakfast and tea under the sun.

Overlooking a Tilapia fish pond.

A good spot to nap

All rooms are sea view.

From the outside

Picturesque ... everywhere!

This shot was taken at 6.30 am.

Catching the sun rise.

Carpet of morning glory.

Mr Crab, are you awake?

Fishermen are out early to bring our dinner.

Follow my foot steps!

Cooling spot under a shady tree.

We'll be back!

King of Fruits

What???  No fruit!

Aming told me:  You wait.  The lorry is on the way.
And true enough, 10 minutes later ... le voila!

Aming got the first basket.

We let the expert do the job ...

For the first time in my life I learnt how to select a good fruit.  They did not even smell it.

It started by shaking the fruit.  Tapping it a few times.  And weighing it manually.

Okay.  Approved.  Unload all!

Yes, Sir.  I want that one!

This is Durian.  THE King.

Wish I could eat more.  It was thick, sweet with a slight bitter taste.  Awesome!

It took Aming quite a while to unload all .... phew ...

127 Jalan SS17/1A

There's a new coffee shop in town! It's called ANA:LOG.  The owner wants to install the nostalgic moments we were used to long before the digital era.  I find it cool ...

I found embedded tiles on the stairs in front of the shop so cute!

Warm greetings by the Man himself.

This was my first view of the interior.

I straight away fell in love with the cake display cupboard.  It is wide and roomy.  Custom made to suit the ambiance.

Key Lime!!!  Now isn't that my favourite or what?!!

I just couldn't resist it.  Must go to the kitchen.  Must go to the kitchen!
And YES!  They allowed me to have a peek.  I had a nice surprise.  Somebody is preparing a yummylicious looking opera cake!

This is a soaked pear.

And this is the soaked pear tart :)

Freshly baked loaves.

An apple cake ready to be sliced ...

Nice colour.

And now for the specialty coffee I came here for.  Nearly forgot about the coffee.  Ha ha ha ...

Placed my order and had a nice surprise to find this near the cashier.

Old time favs!

I came for brunch.  So, hello Lamb Stew with Egg!  The sourdough toast was to die for.  I nearly forgot about the stew.  Was busily enjoying my delicious bread.

My pour over coffee is here!

Today, it is #9.

Just the way I like my coffee.  A little acidic.  Just perfect to go with that sinful key lime pie.

Groovy lamps above my head.

I will be back soon for more coffee.
